Meet the Founder & Our Philosophy
"Helping people has always been my purpose. Luna & Lavender® simply became another way to live that purpose."
Welcome, and thank you for visiting Luna & Lavender® Botanical Wellness.
My name is Claudia Barton, and I am the founder of Luna & Lavender®.
If you've found your way here, I'd love to share a little about why this company exists.
For many years, I have had the privilege of serving children and families as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA), and Certified Trauma Professional (CTP). Every day, I help people work toward a better quality of life. Whether helping a child communicate for the first time, become more independent, or celebrate a milestone that once felt impossible, my work has always been guided by one simple question:
Will this improve someone's quality of life?
Over time, I realized I was asking myself that same question outside of my profession.
What began as a personal hobby—researching herbs, studying botanicals, and developing botanical formulations—slowly became something much more meaningful.
I realized I had discovered another way to help people.
Not through therapy.
Not through behavior plans.
But through thoughtfully developed botanical formulations that encourage people to slow down, care for themselves, and create intentional wellness rituals in their everyday lives.
That realization became Luna & Lavender®.
Every time I step into my formulation room, I am reminded that I have the opportunity to combine two of the greatest passions of my life: helping people and creating something with my own hands. My hope is that every botanical formulation I create carries that same care, intention, and kindness into your home.
Every Botanical Formulation Begins with Purpose
When I begin developing a new botanical formulation, I never ask,
"Will this sell?"
Instead, I ask one simple question:
"Will this improve someone's quality of life?"
Will it help create a peaceful bedtime ritual?
Will it comfort dry, tired skin after a long day?
Will it refresh someone after exercise or during a hot summer afternoon?
Will it nourish healthy-looking hair and help someone feel more confident?
Will it encourage someone to pause, take a deep breath, and remember they deserve a few moments of care?
If the answer is yes, then I know I'm creating something worthwhile.
Because every botanical formulation should have a purpose.
People Deserve the Best
One promise I made to myself when I founded Luna & Lavender® was that I would never compromise on quality.
I don't choose ingredients because they're the least expensive.
I choose them because they are the best fit for the purpose of the formulation.
Every botanical.
Every oil.
Every butter.
Every hydrosol.
Every carefully selected cosmetic ingredient.
Each one is chosen with intention because I believe the people who welcome Luna & Lavender® into their homes deserve my very best.
Every botanical formulation is developed with the same care and attention I would give to something I was creating for my own family.
More Than Botanical Formulations
To me, these are more than botanical formulations.
They are expressions of kindness.
A facial mist becomes a gentle reminder to pause.
A body butter becomes an evening ritual of self-care.
A cup of herbal tea becomes permission to rest.
A nourishing hair ritual becomes an act of confidence.
These moments may seem small.
But I have learned, both professionally and personally, that small, intentional actions practiced consistently can have a meaningful impact on our lives.
That's why I believe wellness isn't something we achieve once.
It's something we practice.
One intentional ritual at a time.
Looking Ahead
People sometimes ask me what I hope Luna & Lavender® will become.
The answer has never been about becoming the biggest company or selling the most botanical formulations.
My hope is much simpler.
I hope Luna & Lavender® continues to grow because every step forward creates another opportunity to share kindness.
I dream of the day when we can place comforting botanical gifts into the hands of someone rebuilding their life, surprise a caregiver who always puts others first, thank a first responder for serving our community, or brighten the day of someone who simply needs to know they are seen.
Kindness doesn't always have to be planned.
Sometimes it's a small gift shared with a stranger.
Sometimes it's something quietly left in the hands of someone who needs encouragement.
As Luna & Lavender® grows, I hope those moments grow with it.
Because I believe kindness is meant to be shared.
And the more Luna & Lavender® grows...
The more kindness we can give.
